Dining Out During the Pandemic
Eateries on this list maybe closed for the winter season.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Nantucket eateries are taking precautions to protect their guests while they find new ways to serve them their favorite meals. Eateries who have always offered takeout are now doing curbside and home delivery. Fine dining restaurants are offering to-go menus and hoping to offer outdoor dining once the situation changes. Some are even selling meal kits for guests to finish preparing at home.
Here are island options for dining out during the pandemic, how to order from each, their daily specials, and some ideas on where to take your takeout if you’re tired of dining at home…
Where to take your takeout
If you’re getting tired of eating your takeout at home, there are plenty of places in town and around the island where you can enjoy your coffee or takeout. In addition to the benches you’ll find on nearly every street in town, here are some downtown parks and sitting areas where you can stay 6-feet from others but not feel quarantined. Just remember to take your leftovers and your trash home with you!
New Outdoor Dining Options on Nantucket
Now that Massachusetts is in Phase 3 of Reopening, Nantucket eateries are offering outdoor dining and distanced indoor dining. The Town of Nantucket has worked with island restaurants to permit many to offer sidewalk dining. Because most have limited seating under the current pandemic conditions, reservations are a must! Per our Governor, masks or face-covering must be worn by those dining outdoors and indoors while guests are waiting, walking to and from tables or the bathroom. NO, you do not have to wear face-covering while you are seated at your table. Our island restaurants are happy to welcome you back!
