Nantucket

Nantucket is a town, a county, and an island in the state of Massachusetts.  Our island is located approximately 30 miles off the eastern coast of the United States and is accessible by air and by water.  According to census information, Nantucket Island has a year-round population of just under 12,000 (though residents will tell you it is larger).  During peak summer months, the population swells to 50,000+.

Nantucket’s primary industries are tourism, construction, educational services, and retail.

In 2018, the media age on Nantucket was 37.6, and median household income was over $103,000.

Median property value was $953,000.

The Town of Nantucket is led by an elected Selectboard and annual town meeting.
