The Writer’s ToolBox is a fun, stress-free way to work on your writing in a supportive atmosphere. Each session will focus on an aspect of writing and writers of all genres and levels are welcome.
The Writer’s ToolBox is facilitated by Amy Jenness, Atheneum programs coordinator and author of On This Day In Nantucket History.
In this session we will examine how revision and reduction make writing better. We begin with readings that contain stellar descriptions where the writer’s restraint elevates the writing. Then we will experiment with writing prompts designed to play around with using too many words and then editing them down. We will try to find that Goldilocks exposition spot of not too much and not too little. We finish up with sharing and discussion.
Free admission, but space is limited please register.
