Join Mystic Seaport’s Don Sineti at the Whaling Museum for a family evening of sea chanteys, whaling ballads, and Americana folk classics. Sing along to patriotic tunes as Sineti delights audiences of all ages with his booming voice and accompanied by banjo and concertina talents.
Don Sineti, from Bloomfield, Connecticut, began doing artwork of Cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) after returning from Vietnam in 1968 where he served with the 199th Infantry Brigade.
He is co-founder and past president of the Cetacean Society International. He has illustrated five major publications about cetaceans and has had two shows at the United Nations. He has thirty pieces on permanent display at Hale Kohola (House of the Whale) Museum in Maui, Hawaii. His desire is for the art to have the “look and feel” of traditional sailor art but with anatomically correct cetaceans.
As a chantey-man, Don has recorded two CDs and performed around the world. He is on staff at Mystic Seaport.
