Come have fun at the Maria Mitchell Association’s Pop-Up Science cart. Pop-Up Science provides family oriented science experiments every Wednesday and Friday on the bricks in the Atheneum garden, unless it’s raining in which case the Atheneum, the MMA Aquarium, Natural Science Museum or Observatory provide plenty of dryer explorations! There will be demonstrations, experiments for the audience to try themselves, prizes to be won, birds from the MMA collections, paper airplane contests, and occasionally an aquarium touch tank. Experiments include testing everyday liquids to see if they are acids or bases, demonstrating inertia with an egg, using solar energy, and making a homemade lava lamp. Thank you to the Maria Mitchell Association for bringing the popcart to town!
