Habitat Hike

Maria Mitchell | Nantucket, MA
September 17, 2020 @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

What makes a forest different from a field? Through a combination of exploration, close observation, and games we will investigate the natural habitats around us. Together we will learn what a habitat is, how to identify several common habitats on Nantucket, and how different habitats are connected to one another.

This program is appropriate for children ages 6 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult and all participants must register. Participants should be prepared to drive or bike to meet the MMA instructor in the field. Location to be determined. In the case of inclement weather, programs will be cancelled and participants will be notified.

Private programs available. If you wish to make one of these sessions a private experience for your family, you must register for all eight spaces. Otherwise, contact mzegans@mariamitchell.org to schedule a private program. Private programs have limited availability and will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
